Dr. Satbir Khanuja currently is an Operating Partner at Fuse Venture Partners and Venture Advisor at Ignition Partners. He serves on the boards of Digi International, a leading IoT company and LevelTen Energy, world’s largest renewable marketplace. He also is an advisor to several technology startups including Symend, Enlyft, Live stories and Core stack. He led DataSphere Technologies Inc. as the Chief Executive Officer and President and created two successful businesses- LandWatch, world’s largest land and rural properties marketplace and DataSphere Local- a leading online and mobile marketing platform for small and medium businesses. Both the businesses were acquired by publicly traded companies. He also spent seven years at Amazon.com as a member of the executive team and was the Vice President of Worldwide Traffic Organization, responsible for driving billions of dollars in sales through free and paid traffic to all Amazon websites worldwide. He also served as the Vice President and General Manager of Amazon’s IMDb.com and In-Theater businesses, where he created all business functions and built the division into one of the 50 most trafficked web sites in the world. Prior to Amazon.com, he was with McKinsey & Company where he led projects in several industries, including electronics, telecommunication and banking. He holds a Ph.D. in Ceramics Engineering from MIT and B. Tech. degree from IIT in Bombay, India.
CAMERON BORUMAND
Cameron is a founding partner of Fuse where he focuses on early-stage investments in horizontal and vertical intelligent application software. Previously, Cameron was a Principal at Ignition Partners, a leading enterprise software focused venture capital firm. At Ignition, Cameron played a key role in sourcing, identifying, and supporting new investments.
Prior to Ignition, Cameron was a co-founder of Curious Capital. He raised a small fund of outside capital to invest in innovative seed-stage technology companies based in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to Curious, Cameron was a technology investment banker at Vaquero Capital in San Francisco. At Vaquero, Cameron was critical in leading marketing and diligence efforts, as well as sourcing transactions for two leading software companies.
Cameron holds a BS degree in Business Administration-Finance from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington.
HANIF JOSHAGHANI
Hanif is a serial entrepreneur who’s raised $40MM across 4 companies he has founded with 3 exits so far. His primary role is the Co-Founder and CEO of Symend, a start-up Software as a Service (SaaS) FinTech company based out of Calgary, Alberta. In addition, Hanif also focuses on advising and investing into new software start-ups focused primarily in Western Canada.
Hanif is also a Co-Founder of Aimsio, an operational software start-up where he lead the sales and business development team in customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, implementation of internal business processes and financial management. Since shifting his energy to Symend, he has stepped back from his operational role to a Special Advisor seat.
Prior to assuming his full-time responsibilities at Aimsio, Hanif was head of the Investment Banking department at CoreWest Capital (formerly Colonial Advisory). At CoreWest Capital, he sourced and lead the execution of dozens of oilfield service transactions. He also oversaw the firm’s merchant banking portfolio.
Prior to joining CoreWest Capital, Hanif worked as a manager of Corporate Finance for Capital Power Corporation, where he managed and coordinated approximately $1.2 billion in capital market transactions. In addition, as part of a specialized team, he managed the due diligence process on business development projects and acquisitions valued at over $1 billion.
Prior to joining Capital Power, Hanif worked as an Associate Investment Banker for TD Securities Global Power & Energy group. During his tenure with TD Securities, he worked with clients to complete merger & acquisition transactions, financings, and IPOs with a total transaction value of approximately $4 billion.
Hanif has an MBA from the Rotman School of Management from the University of Toronto, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago.
John Connors
John Connors is a managing partner at Ignition. John joined Ignition in 2005 after a distinguished career as a software-industry executive.
John spent sixteen years at Microsoft in several high-level, strategic roles. From January 2000 to April 2005 he was senior vice president of finance and administration, as well as the company’s chief financial officer. He also served as vice president of the Worldwide Enterprise Group and vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Before becoming CIO, John held a number of positions within and outside finance, including corporate controller; general manager of worldwide financial operations; director of business operations at Microsoft’s European headquarters in Paris; and director of business operations for the Worldwide Sales and Support Strategy Group.
John is a member of the board of directors of Nike (NKE), Splunk (SPLK), Icertis, KenSci, MAKA, Tempered Networks, and Tractable. He was also a board member of XenSource, acquired by Citrix in 2007; Heroku, acquired by Salesforce in 2010; Parse, acquired by Facebook in 2013; Tier 3, acquired by CenturyLink in 2013; Scout Analytics, acquired by ServiceSource in 2014; Xamarin, acquired by Microsoft in 2016; Azuqua, acquired by Okta in 2019; and FiREapps, acquired by Kyriba in 2019. John also led Ignition’s investment in Splunk (IPO 2012). John was named to the 2013 Forbes Midas List, a ranking of the world’s top venture capital investors, and to Business Insider’s 2013 list of top enterprise technology VCs.
John received his BA in accounting from the University of Montana. He also received the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Montana.
